Conviction: Suite for brass quintet (2018)
What is your most cherished belief? What is one particular ideal that you strongly believe in and would stand by no matter what? What particular standard do you have, to which you would always hold yourself?
Now what would you do if you were the only person alive who held that belief? Would you still believe in it with such conviction, even if the entire world is saying that you are wrong? In the face of such adversity, what does it take to rebuild faith when it shatters, to redefine one’s entire sense of self? The process of doing so is long, ugly, and even twisted, but something intensely beautiful can be born as a result.
